HydraArk, registered Greek Charity No. 4531, comprises a group of volunteers working with and within the community and in collaboration with the Municipality of Hydra to improve the welfare of the island's animals.

We started our activities in 2008, interpreting the need to help and assist Hydra’s animals.

Our philosophy is the necessity to cultivate an harmonious relationship between men and animals and a sense of compassion and respect toward fragile creatures.

Our dream is that one day Hydra could become an example. We are working very hard in that direction. An increasing number of people are involved in the difficult but rewarding task to make our animals healthier and happier.

HA believes in the importance of educating the new generation in this project and deeply appreciates the interest of the youngest.

We also believe in Hydra and think that by improving the conditions of life of its animals we will make it a better and more attractive place for sensitive visitors from around the world.

We greatly appreciate the advice and support of well established charities and Animal Welfare Organizations from Greece and the rest of the world and believe that collaboration is essential to grow stronger.

Our work is made possible through the generous donations of our members, sponsors, and others concerned with the welfare of Hydra's animals. Their help means a lot to us: not only it allows HA to exist, but it also encourages us all to persevere in our common cause.
